Today I'm back to show how much I love music and how much I love to review it.
It was really hard to decide whose song and music video to review. Few weeks i was choosing from Tiziano Ferro, FT Island and Jason Mraz. And today...oh how surprised I was...on my way to school, like always, I was listening to the music. And suddenly: dam dam darararam damdam dararara damdam darararara... AOA's "Elvis" took today's my most listened song first place. So I forgot that I was choosing from Ferro, FTI and Mraz. My head was already full of comments for this song and while watching mv with my Sherlock eyes I opened my blog and started this post. So yes k-pop lovers, today this post is for you.
First, let's talk about new FNC ent project. Two months ago AOA debuted with seven female artists as "angels" and plus one as "half angel". After solo artist Juniel, Ace Of Angels is first female group from FNC Entertainment (you know CN Blue and FT Island). And I want to congratulate this ent, since AOA is first 2in1 group in this k-pop world. Seven members are like usual girl groups, since they dance and sing, while other four members with "half angel" also plays instruments (let me call them AOA band that plays guitars, drums and keyboard). I really respect this idea. And yes, I prefer more AOA band than dancing AOA. It's really unusual in k-pop world to see cute girls with music instruments.
Now let's start my review. I chose their first debut single "Elvis. If you haven't watched it yet, do it before reading.
"Elvis" full version(first) and "Elvis" band version(second):
Lyrics and music: I have nothing bad to say about this. Music tone is really catchy, lyrics are about hot, sweet, beloved guy. After listening to it for few times you just can't hold yourself from humming it. Or singing. Of course if your Korean isn't crappy as mine. Lyrics are simple, nothing special...oh sorry, let me explain this. You know, I like when song lyrics are about something unusual, like poem. "Elvis" is just like any other popular song: girl sees a guy, she likes him and sings about how sexy and hot he is and calls him "You're my Elvis". About that nickname Elvis. That person who wrote this is awesome and i want to give him a high-five. Like come on, I didn't heard any girl call her boyfriend Elvis? You know, back to when our parents (and grandparents) where young, the person whose name was Elvis....oh my, you know Elvis Presley and how girls where fangirling. Just look, he sure was good looking.
Dance: I'm not a pro at dancing, but my Sherlock eyes doesn't let any step without complete revision. As for AOA. Well dance steps looks simple (after watching few covers I can also say it looks pretty easy). I liked how dance matches with lyrics. Song reminds about fan-girling and so does dance moves looks like fan-girling. On the other hand, I'm a big fan of Miss A, so no need to hate me, but I always hope to see something awesome and what is hard, for us fans, to learn and cover. Something with more passion for dance, something full of energy. Here I only saw simple skips that really reminded me fan-girling.And ...what does this step means?
Music video: Oh, and that's where my Sherlock eyes worked full-time. Mv begins when people are walking somwhere in the city, everything reminds of 60s'. But...there is few big "but". First of all, I missed something about architecture back done, but does this street really is a bit...erm...with strange road shapes? How on earth car supposed to drive through this street? And don't tell me that it's sideway.
You know, when you are buying tickets, there is always a ticket seller that sells tickets. Right? I wonder, did back in 60s' there were no ticket sellers and people bought tickets just by talking with a white wall? Hm... There is something without any sense here. Oh I know! Pororo is a ticket seller, but it's hard to see him! Hahah! Okay, back to normal. If there was a lack of people for this mv, you should have called me. I would do the ticket sellers role for free. Geez...
And last "but". They wanted to create outside atmosphere, evening, when people hangs out...but they failed. Those buildings were so fake that i was really dissapointed. They failed to create real 60s' atmosphere. Whoever directed this mv, next time contact me. I will show you some awesome places in my country where you can film other mv's.
Oh, don't forget that annoying thing when you usually see on commercials or movies. I don't now what about you guys, but if i would fall from the sky, my hair would be a huge mess and there is no way I would land beautiful with high-heels and stand up as if I just took something that fell. I understand if angels would land with their wings. But these girls fell from the sky like comets. Is it really hard to make everything more realistic? Just like commercial, they show how beautiful with elegance people wake up, but in reallity...it's better if guy that you like wont see you.
AOA band: Thanks for five girls that hides negative sides of dancing AOA. But...in mv...why I only saw how fake instruments were played? Drummer is okay, but guitarists....especially girl who plays keyboard. I know girls arer prof at playing them, but rally, it looked so fake. Like nothing but just moving hands. What about eyes? CN Blue, FT Island. These guys time after time looks into their instruments. AOA girls were only consentrated into camera and wink wink. But drummer is okay.
Best members: And I know now who are my favorites. Drummer, girl that raps and has a bit of blue in her hair...oh screw this. I like all of the girls from AOA band. But not that with keyboard. She is okay, but I already said what dissapointed me. And I guess it's time to learn their names.
So, that's all for now. I hope you liked it and no need to hate me if you didn't liked it. Tell me your oppinion and also, you can request songs for my next review.
AOA, so what is your fan club title? Elvis? I wont mind it :)
